Four-Day Work Week

How pleasant to watch other people work.

Last summer we experimented with 4-day work weeks. People should enjoy the weather in the summer. We found that just about the same amount of work gets done in four days vs. five days.

So if that’s the case we could either push everyone to work harder during those five days or we could just skip one of those days. We decided to skip one of those days.

  1. Hmm.. My fancy soundbite detector is flashing.

    Though 'officially' they may not be working, as Geeks we all know that our brains are pretty much continuously working on whatever project we happen to be working on at the time.

    BTW, thanks for giving the talk at the LRUG meet about background tasks - it's was a great primer on the subject - and very nicely given.

  2. Si, I know what you mean. Personally, I prefer to take an extra-long lunch break and go swimming. The hours probably equate to a four-day work week, just spread over five days.
