Type Dates Quickly In Vortex
There are a couple of shortcuts which really speed up typing dates in Vortex.
- If you type a number into a date box, Vortex treats it as an offset from today. So '0' is converted into today's date, '2' into the day after tomorrow's and so on.
- Once a date is in the box, e.g. 1 December 2006, the up and down arrow keys increment and decrement the part of the date that the caret is on. So if your caret is on 'December', pressing the up and down arrow keys will change it to 'January' or 'November' respectively. And, of course, incrementing up to January rolls the year over to 2007 as you'd expect.
I hope you're finding Vortex useful. Don't be afraid to let me know how I could make it more useful for you.
